VTCT is proud and delighted to support NCFE as its specialist partner to design and develop the T Level Technical Qualification in Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics. The T Level contract was awarded to NCFE by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (the Institute). As the market-leading Awarding Organisation for the Hair, Beauty and Complementary Therapies sectors, VTCT is proud to contribute the knowledge and experience of its own technical experts and key stakeholders to develop the government’s new gold standard technical qualification.
The announcement made today by the Institute and the Department for Education (DfE) is part of the fourth wave of implementation for the new programme of T Levels. Development on these qualifications will begin immediately and delivery of the Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics T Level is scheduled to commence across England in 2023.
Commenting on the win, VTCT Chief Executive, Alan Woods OBE, said, “VTCT is pleased to support NCFE on this T Level contract as the specialist sub-contractor and partner. David Gallagher, CEO at NCFE said, “NCFE is delighted to have been awarded the new T Level contracts, and to be able to expand our technical education offer to include creative sector specialisms, improving choices for students. We have been really pleased with the progress of T Levels so far, and we will be able to build on this knowledge and experience when designing and implementing these new qualifications.
We particularly look forward to collaborating with VTCT to bring the Hair and Beauty qualifications to life – with our extensive knowledge on the development of T Levels, combined with their expertise and standing in the sector, we are confident that the qualifications be of the highest quality and lead learners into fantastic career opportunities.
We will now be working closely with experts across the Hair and Beauty sectors to ensure that the new T Levels will equip students with the relevant skills those industries are looking for, while providing a practical and engaging approach to learning that supports students into their future careers. We’ll collaborate with expert contributors to help us to raise the standards and expectations of skills within their industries, shaping the future workforce and nurturing a new generation of talent.”
T Levels signify a significant change in technical education as they have become one of three main choices for post-16 students which also includes A levels and apprenticeships.
They have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure the content both meets industry needs as well as prepares a learner to enter the workforce.
