A Beauty Therapist will deliver essential one-to-one Beauty Therapy treatments such as waxing services, hand and nail treatments, facial skin care treatments, make-up application and basic massage treatments.
A Beauty Therapist is expected to work independently or as part of a team supported by a manager when completing treatments. Their work environment can be varied in size, style and ambiance, ranging from a hotel or cruise ship, through to small bespoke salons or luxury high end beauty salons and spas.
A Beauty Therapist is expecting to demonstrate a willingness to learn, have an enquiring and curious mind and are enthusiastic to advance in their chosen career. In addition, Beauty Therapists should exhibit a strong work ethic and maintain throughout their career continual professional development. They are expected to complete all duties and treatments within the scope of the occupational role in accordance with legal, industry and organisational requirements. A Beauty Therapist must act with professionalism, without supervision and observe safe working practices to ensure a high level of precision.
To be eligible for the Gateway Stage of the End-point Assessment, the apprentice must meet the following Gateway requirements. A full time apprentice will typically spend 15 months on-programme.:
