Key Account Manager
Kate has been working in the hair and beauty sector for 20 years qualifying with a Level 5 HND in Health and Beauty Therapy Management. After several years working as a beauty therapist, she secured her first teaching role as a lecturer in beauty therapy and went on to complete her certificate in education through Brighton University. After completing both an assessors award and level four certificate in internal quality assurance, Kate went on to be lead IQA across all beauty, nail and make up qualifications.
Kate has taught on a range of courses during her time in FE, from level 1 to level 4 in beauty therapy, make up, employability, management, assessing and business. Kate also worked on a range of initiatives for her college group implanting social spaces, action groups and facilities for the LGBT+ community and supported the set-up of a BAME committee.
For the last six years, Kate has managed a large team in a further education college as head of curriculum for the business services sector which included hair, beauty, make up, barbering, business, travel and tourism. She is experienced in curriculum planning and has a wealth of knowledge to share when it comes to planning courses that meet the needs of learners, provide progression to employment and consider budgets and local employment needs.
More recently, Kate has contributed to the working groups for T level planning, is authoring the T level hair and beauty textbook and champions T level education after teaching on the business T level programme for the past year. Kate has also qualified in a range of higher-level beauty treatments such as dermaplaning, skin needling and skin peels enabling her to support centres who will be running these exciting new qualifications.
Kate is Key Account Manager for London supporting centres with all aspects of implementing the curriculum, in order for them to grow and for the students to reach their chosen destinations.
