An advanced beauty therapist can be employed within the beauty industry, travel, leisure and health sectors, in a variety of salons, spas and aesthetic environments.
The primary purpose of an advanced beauty therapist is to provide, design and implement personalised treatment plans. Treatments include advanced manual therapies such as expert massage technique and, technical therapies such as electrical treatments. An advanced beauty therapist is expecting to demonstrate understanding and control of organisational operations (necessary business systems and processes) to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, contribute to financial the effectiveness of the business, and maintain and maximise resources, (equipment, people and consumables).
In their daily work, an advanced beauty therapist interacts with a number of internal (e.g. other colleagues) and external (e.g. brand and marketing agencies, manufacturer representatives and other industry professionals) individuals, building valuable relationships with colleagues, organisations and clients.
An employee in this occupation is expected to work independently delivering treatments in a private, secure and safe environment.
To be eligible for the Gateway Stage of the End-point Assessment, the apprentice must meet the following Gateway requirements:
EPA consists of three assessment methods: knowledge test, observation and technology demonstration and a professional discussion. These can be delivered in any order.
